Taking Full advantage of Microsoft's .NET technology
Atalasoft DotImage was designed taking full advantage of the object-oriented benefits of Microsoft's .NET technology using many of the same design patterns used in the .NET framework. Atalasoft DotImage is extensible, which means that you the developer can easily enhance the product by adding new imaging commands and image codec formats. There is no need to register any ActiveX controls and deal with the issues of COM interop. Deployment is as simple as copying the files to the end user's computer.

Atalasoft has a history of developing high quality components that are easy to use. Microsoft .NET has given us the ability to maintain this philosophy while increasing the features, performance, and extensibility of our imaging components. We understand that you want a component that can quickly be implemented into your application, without being an imaging expert. We believe to have achieved this with our intuitive object-oriented model. Nearly all of DotImage's functionality can be accessed from one object called the workspace. This workspace object keeps a collection of images, undo levels, and an image processing method that any image command can be passed into. The workspace viewer control adds a GUI interface with features such as scrolling, panning, zooming, rubberbanding, and more. Control how your image is viewed and displayed with scale-to-gray antialiasing and multiple view settings.

Powerful Features
Included with DotImage are hundreds of effects, filters, and transforms. Some are specific to photographic imaging, others to document imaging. Most give you the ability to process a selected region of the image. Atalasoft DotImage also offers the most versitile set of image metadata classes currently available. This is perfect for photographic imaging when retreiving EXIF, IPTC or TIFF tag data. Atalasoft DotImage can be used for a variety of existing and new applications.

Performance with GDI+
The .NET Framework offers limited imaging functionality with GDI+. While being adequate for some developers, it is inefficient to use GDI+ for images that are not 32-bit. All images including 1-bit document and colormapped images are automatically converted to 32-bit when displayed using System.Drawing in .NET. This can lead to very slow performance. Atalasoft DotImage is designed to co-exist with GDI+. The DotImage controls will take advantage of 1-bit and colormapped images allowing these images to be displayed at very high speeds.
