A Data Input Control/Component for .Net
BinaryExtendedText .NET Ver. 2.0 is an advanced Microsoft .NET WinForms© control, providing a Visual Studio .NET ©styled, feature rich and highly configurable, "Text box" control for the Microsoft WinForms© .NET platform. BinaryExtendedText .NET is a typical .NET text box control, deriving from the .NET "TextBox" class, but in addition, provides its own custom painting functionality in order to support additional graphical user interface effects.

The "Extended" style provides for the following rich features :-
- Custom border color - The control supports setting custom border color. By default, when the control is in the extended style mode, its borders are drawn using the system specific Selected Items color. You can set a different color for drawing the control's border, by setting its BorderColor property.
- Custom border styles - The control supports two different border styles - Normal and Dotted . By setting the DrawBorder property to Dotted style, you can have the control's border drawn as a dotted line. You can also set the depth of the dots and the gap between the dots, by setting the appropriate properties.
- Mouse hovering effects - While in extended style mode and when the input focus is not on the control, whenever the mouse focus moves over and out of the control, the control's borders are drawn and cleared respectively, giving a "Visual Studio .NET style" control hovering effects.
To change this default behaviour, you can set the control's ShowBorderAlways property to true, if you want the control's border to be displayed irrespective of whether the control has input focus or otherwise.
- "XP" style, enhanced "Password character" display (Win2000 and upwards only) - Want to display your passwords using the popular XP styled BLOCK BLACK Dots ? We have the right solution for you! When the control is in "password text" mode, you can set its UseEnhancedPasswordChar property to true, to display the text (password text) in a style, emulating the "XP style" popular block black dotsNote: This feature is available in both "Extended" and "Normal" modes of display.
- NEW! Control now supports a "Border blinking" facility! The control now supports border blinking facility. Now you can set a color of your choice and a time interval, and ask the control to blink its border with that specific color and timer interval, and the control will blink until you ask it to stop blinking. What this means to you? This facility can be really handy in situations where you need to draw your user's attention to the text control - for example, to alert the user about an invalid text input, and so on. An example of this feature's use could be - as an alternative to the Microsoft .NET Error provider control. Imagine, when using BinaryExtendedText .NET control within a data grid or other data reporting control... would it not be a cool idea, to attract your user's attention to the text box, by making the text control blink with an alertable color? - NEW! BinaryNumericExtendedText control introduced! A new object BinaryNumericExtendedText has been introduced that allows only numeric input to be entered. The new objects also lets you define a numeric range to validate the input.
