This component calculates machine readability index of the input text. Machine readability is not the same as readability for humans (Flesch-Kincaid formulas, for example). Frequently, it is the opposite.

While humans experience difficulties understanding long or rare words, they are the easiest for natural language software packages. On the other hand, the software packages have difficulties with short, ambiguous words. Readability Index approximates how difficult is the input text for an average natural language processing package. A typical use would be translation workflow where readability index assesses whether the text is to be translated by humans or machines.
