Data Connectivity

Connectivity to a range of data sources: Connect to all popular databases including Oracle, IBM DB2, MS SQL, etc. using ODBC, OLE DB and ODAC Connectivity. You can also connect the IntelliVIEW Designer to your applications via XML data access.

Visual construction of SQL queries: A graphical query builder that allows even novice users to construct complex SQL queries without the need to write any code! Power users can also write their own SQL commands in the SQL pane and execute them directly.

Reuse connection objects: Previously created database connections and queries can be reused thus saving substantial time.

Unicode Support: Reports can now display data in any language (and also display multiple languages within reports).

Support for binary database objects: The IntelliVIEW Designer supports binary objects or BLOBS (Binary Large OBjectS) and B Files. Report developers can load picture objects from databases to create visually rich reports such as employee profiles, product catalogs.

Report Design

Intuitive Reporting IDE: An Integrated Report Development Environment allows reports to be created using a drag-&-drop interface, and object oriented explorers. Developers can control reporting and design objects by just changing their properties.

Type of reports: Cross-tab, conditional, top N/ bottom N, summary, columnar, barcode, linked, HTML sub view, mailing label and grouped reports.

Advanced calculations: An extensive function library combined with a powerful scripting engine adds client-side intelligence to the reports. An extensive array of analytics can be performed within the reports using the math functions and other operations .

No proprietary scripting: Developers do not need to learn new/ propriety languages to get started with the Designer. Reports can be easily tailored to specific needs using generic scripting languages such as Jscript.

Powerful charting: A drag-&-drop interface makes embedding of charts extremely easy. Selection of chart properties, definition of the presentation later, etc. can be accomplished using just a few clicks. The Designer supports a wide variety of charts including bar, 3D bar, pie, doughnut, scatter & radar among others.

Crosstab Wizard: Crosstab reports can be quickly and painlessly created using a Wizard. The Crosstab can be created based values as well as manually entered values.
