MicroPDF417 is a 2D barcode symbology based on PDF417. MicroPDF417 is designed to encode moderate amount of data into a very compact symbol. MicroPDF417 offers more data storage than linear (1D) barcodes, up to 150 bytes, 250 alphanumeric, or 366 numeric digits, and includes an Error Correction Code (ECC) which allows error-free reading even when a symbol has been partially lost or destroyed. It is usually used in conjunction with other GS1 linear barcodes to create composite barcodes

Fast Barcode Detection:
LEADTOOLS barcode recognition is very fast; it outperforms most hardware-supported barcode read products. This software engine permits fast document scanners to maintain full speed while performing barcode recognition operations on the fly for document-indexing purposes.

Developers have the ability to provide optional configuration settings affecting the detection speed, including number of barcodes expected, barcode orientation, and potential location of barcodes. This flexibility in search parameters can improve the speed of barcode detection.
