PDFTron’s PDFSecure SDK is an affordable, easy-to-use development component that can be used to add, remove, and change security settings on PDF documents or whole directories of documents.
Because of built-in support for multi-threading, PDFSecure SDK provides a reliable building block for third-party client and server-based applications.
Using PDFSecure SDK, standard PDF bit encryption (40 and 128 bit) can be applied to any existing PDF document or to whole directories of documents. Security settings (e.g. changing passwords and security permissions) can easily be modified and all standard options and permissions can be specified directly through an easy-to–use API.
The library supports PDF 1.7 and Acrobat 8 documents, and can be easily accessed from any programming language (including C#, VB.NET, C/C++, Java, VB6, Perl, Python, Ruby, Delphi, etc).
Key Functions of PDFSecure SDK:
Encrypt any PDF document or whole directories of documents using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) encryption and Crypt filters. AES and Crypt filters.
Encrypt any PDF document using standard PDF 40 and 128 RC4 bit encryption.
Modify security settings (for example, change passwords or security permissions).
Completely remove security from existing documents.
Set of modify document information metadata such as Author, Subject, Title, Keywords, etc. to all processed documents.
Linearize and optimize existing PDF documents for ‘Fast Web View’ capability and faster downloading.
Common Use Case Scenarios:
Server-based, on-demand encryption and decryption of PDF documents based on specific security requirements.
Batch processing of PDF collections that require a uniform security and permission settings across many documents. PDFSecure is particularly useful in assembling product catalogues, brochures, and forms.
Linearization of existing PDF documents for ‘Fast Web View’ capability.
