Secure FTP

The FTP protocol is not a secure protocol, therefore any data or commands transferred using standard FTP clients, including our U-Upload applet and Unlimited FTP applet, are not secure. Your data and passwords can be captured on the Internet. However through Unlimited FTP Servlet, all your data and command streams are encrypted.

Unlimited FTP Servlet Details

The UnlimitedFTP Servlet applet running in the browser communicates with the Servlet on your network server, transferring data and commands using the secure HTTPS protocol. The HTTPS packets pass transparently through any firewalls or proxies in the network. The Servlet communicates with the FTP server across your local private network using standard FTP commands and protocol. All transfers across the Internet are secure.

All data and commands are wrapped through an HTTPS layer to provide complete security. On the client side, the UnlimitedFTP Servlet applet in conjuction with the browser encodes outgoing data and decodes incoming data. On the server side the UnlimitedFTP Servlet in conjuction with the servlet container (e.g. Websphere or Tomcat) or linked Web Server performs the same task.
