Clearly Arranged Layout in Network Charts
VARCHART XNet is a network charting component to visualise and to interactively modify data that are logically dependent. Optimized node arrangement and a minimized number of intersections provide a clearly arranged layout of a network chart. Make your plannings profit from the integrated scheduler that takes into account a calendar and immediately calculates floats and critical paths in the network chart.
Easy Integration of a Network Chart in Your Application
Configure your network chart easily and quickly at design time by the comfortable editors of the property pages or at run time by the comprehensive object model of the application programming interface.
Our network charting software supports the Unicode character set. Specific characters from all over the world can be displayed in annotation fields. Besides, menu items in context menus and in runtime dialogs of the network chart can be localized easily.
Use the programming samples delivered with our network charting software in the languages of C#, VB.NET and VB 6 to get started. You will be surprised how quickly you can produce presentable results. You can run our network charting software on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Vista of Microsoft.
Detailed user and reference manuals and an online help integrated in Microsoft Visual Studio deliver the information that you need.
Versatile Network Chart Design
A large number of design options lets your network chart to target your customer's requests precisely. Configure annotations of the nodes by internal and external fields exactly as needed. Define the required fields, their size and their appearance. You can obtain an up-to-date look by using transparent colors and color grades in your network chart.
The flow direction of the network chart sets the direction of arrangement to succeeding activities. It can be set horizontally or vertically. You can group nodes according to criteria and then arrange them in lines or clusters wihin the network chart. The way a link joins a node reflects the type of relation (FF, FS, SF, SS) between the nodes. If desired, links can be annotated and they can be highlighted by color, line type and line thickness.
In a network chart, format attributes of nodes and links can not only be set in a fixed way, but also in a dynamic way, making them dependent on data by filters and maps.
Users' Interactions in Network Charts
The layout of nodes and links in a network chart is generated automatically on the base of pre-set criteria. Still, the full interactive control to position the nodes in the network chart remains with you. You can retrieve node positions, store them or re-set them. Text and picture boxes in a network chart serve to display additional information that may be important. They can be moved and edited. A world view allows to comfortably navigate through the network chart. Your can define the position of the screen section and smoothly zoom in and out. Nodes and links in a network chart can be exchanged between two different VARCHART XNet instances using drag & drop. Besides, you can also move nodes to and from different instances of VARCHART Tree charts and Gantt charts.
Printing and Print Preview in a Network Chart
In our network charting software, you can set the display options in the dialog of the page settings, such as
•Folding marks after DIN 824 and its varied forms A, B and C.
Before printing, you can view the effects of your settings by the integrated page preview.
Divide large network charts into the number of pages that you wish and select whether you want the title and the legend repeated on each page. The paging avoids nodes to be cut.
Integrate your charts into other documents by converting the charts into one of the formats EMF, WMF, BMP, GIF, PNG or TIFF.
