Our tree charting software VARCHART XTree lets you graphically display, edit and print your data in the form of tree diagrams. This tree charting component is the perfect tool to display any kind of hierarchical structure, such as bills of materials, project planning diagrams, work breakdown structures, organigrams, file systems or classifications in general. Not only general tree structures, but also specific styles such as the look of the Microsoft Explorer can be produced (TreeView Style).

Our tree charting component VARCHART XTree offers a variety of options to visualize data of different applications:

•A user can choose, whether the structure of the tree is to be defined by a structure code or by the ID of the parent node.
•The appearance of nodes (color, format, background, graphics file (*.bmp), etc.) in a tree chart can be specified by a variety of options.
•In a tree chart, the node appearance is assigned to the nodes in dependence of data. (The data-controlled assignment is defined by maps or filters in form of Boole expressions.)
•Several data fields can be displayed in a node, varying in order, size, font etc. Their size is dynamic.
•The appearance of link lines in a tree chart can be specified.
•The type of arrangement and the state of collapsing of the tree structure can be stored and reloaded.
•Nodes in the tree chart can be displayed in TreeView style.
•The total height of a tree chart that was arranged vertically can be limited by setting the number of levels.
•The VARCHART XTree control can be inserted into a HTML page so that it will be visible in a browser.

The complete data of a tree chart can be loaded and stored to CSV files or by the application programming interface (API). Single data can be inserted, modified or deleted by user interaction.

Property Pages
A tree chart can be customized by property pages. The powerful Application Programming Interface offers a broad variety of options that also can be modified at run time.
You can set all options to be adjusted by the user. Events allow your application to react to your customer's interactions in the tree chart (for example, to validate data). The Application Programming Interface provides a large number of properties, methods and events.

Text or Graphics Boxes in a Tree Chart
Text or graphics boxes can be placed in a tree chart in order to display additional information. The boxes can be moved interactively and can be edited at run time.

Creating Subtrees in a Tree Chart
Subtrees in a tree chart can interactively be created at run time from marked nodes or by using filters. You can switch comfortably between the view of the complete tree and of the subtree. Subtrees can be zoomed smoothly.

OLE Drag & Drop in our Tree Chart Component
You can drag nodes and links of VARCHART XTree into a different instance of VACHART XTree or even into an instance of a different component - such as VARCHART XNet or XGantt. The Drag&Drop mode can be customized individually.
