Waymex is a small software development company run by John Newcombe and is based in North Yorkshire, UK. Through the company, founded in 1998, John has provided contract and freelance software development services to many areas of industry.

Familiar with Project Management methodologies UML design and with full project lifecycle experience, John is able to help in most software development projects. Having worked in Government departments (Defra, Royal Household), finance (Cap Gemini, Ernst & Young), utility sector (BT, Yorkshire Water) and more recently the digital music industry (OD2, Loudeye). John can demonstrate good commercial awareness and customer focus. John's services generally sit somewhere between that of a contractor and a consultant and are typically used on projects when a contractor isn't enough and a consultant cannot be afforded.

In addition Waymex IT is involved in a number of projects based around GPS Software Components and Location based services and offers some of the resulting libraries for sale direct to customers. Existing customers include government departments, United States Geological Survey, Aboriginal Land Management offices, ESRI and other major companies.
